The music ministry at Memorial Baptist seeks to develop and use the musical and technical gifts and talents within our congregation to provide worshipful leadership in our services. Our desire is first to serve and honor Jesus Christ; secondly, we seek to uplift the saints and share the Gospel message to the lost.
The music ministry encompasses more than talents for singing or playing an instrument. There are a number of areas in which people can participate.
Adult Worship Choir – This group provides music leadership in the blended 11:00 AM service. Rehearsals are on Sundays, 4:30-5:45. High school youth may also participate.
Adult Praise Team – This ensemble leads worship in our contemporary 8:30 AM service. Rehearsals are on Tuesday and Saturday nights, 6-7 PM.
Vocalists for small groups (trios, quartets), the Praise Team, and blended service worship leaders are always welcome.
Youth Praise Team – This group varies as more students participate. Youth in grades 6-12 sing in the Youth Group, “Undefined,” services.
Musicians – People with experience in keyboards, piano, drums, guitar, bass, chimes, and vocals can find a place a serve here.
Visual Team – Key to our services is having a team which rotates to provide computer graphics for the services. The computer skills provided by this group greatly enhance our musical worship for the singers and congregation.
Audio Team – Making our “joyful noise” audible and balanced is important in providing an atmosphere where worshippers can hear the musical messages and participate in singing. This team trains interested candidates on the sound board and rotates their service.
Zephaniah 3:17 – “The LORD thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.”
